Mrs. Fritz: CEDRIC, FOR THE HOLIDAY SHOW I WANT YOU TO…”

Cedric is thinking: “UGGH! I HOPE I’M NOT A CANDY CANE AGAIN!”

Panel 2: (The teacher is speaking from outside the panel. Cedric is turning his head away with his eyes closed, one hand on his hip, and waving his other hand in a “no” gesture)

Mrs. Fritz: “TEACH THE CLASS, ‘JINGLE BELLS’ IN SIGN LANGUAGE.”

Cedric: “NO WAY, MRS FRITZ! THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS…”

Panel 3: (Cedric looks angry, scowling his eyebrows. He is signing furiously, showing the signs for practice, consultant, and hours)

Cedric: “YOU NEED A DEAF ASL CONSULTANT FOR THAT, PLUS HOURS OF TRANSLATION AND REHEARSAL TIME! AND I WILL…”
